    T-Echo Battery Connection not working

      Hello,

T-Echo was hung so I popped out the battery connector. I likely bridged +/- for a bit, I would expect this to have damaged the battery if anything but it still reads 3.62v and appears fine.

When connected to USB-C the T-Echo works normally. Now, even after letting the device sit for 24hrs with both power sources disconnected, it does not do anything with the battery connected (wont power on, does not indicate charging w/ battery + USB)

      Questions:

      • Is it possible to have damaged the device? Physical inspection looks fine, the surface mount components under the connector look fine.

      • Is this the best place to request support or is there a hardware team with lilygo? What can I try?

      Thanks!

@humbly7526 I have the T-display s3 no touch and the same thing happened to me as you, I connected the battery wrong for a moment and now when I don't plug it in it doesn't turn on but with the USB cable it works. Have you been able to solve the problem?

@elitesniper Well, there is a blown component, probably the 4065 charge chip.
SMD repair is very tedious and needs special tools, solder and liquid flux.
Do you see any burnt chips?
If it works on USB...go with that!
A external battery with 5V regulator will work.
